Paper Submission Guidelines

Papers represent most of the submissions and form the most scholarly sessions on the Midwest Academy of Management program. A paper refers to (a) a fully developed manuscript of 20 to 40 pages on a scholarly topic or (b) a short paper of 12 pages or less. Therefore, accepted papers are organized into two types of sessions: full paper sessions (involving competitive Conference Tracks) and short paper sessions (involving the Toward  Impactful Research track only). All papers will be double-blind peer reviewed.

Submission Rules for Papers

  1. Each paper can be submitted to only ONE TRACK
At the time of submission, submitted papers must not have been previously presented or scheduled for presentation. Submitted papers also must not have been published or accepted for publication.
  2. NO changes in the paper title, abstract, authorship, and actual paper can occur AFTER the submission deadline. AUTHORS CANNOT BE ADDED AFTER SUMBMISSION!

Formatting Your Paper

  1. The entire paper submission (abstract, main text, figures, graphs, tables, references, etc.) must be in ONE document created in one of the following formats: Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx)  DO NOT INCLUDE A TITLE PAGE!
  2. The maximum length of the paper is 40 pages (including the abstract, key words, the paper, and all figures, graphs, tables, appendices, and references).
  3. Figures, graphs, tables, appendices and references should follow the Academy of Management Journal’s Style Guide.
  4. Use Times New Roman 12-point font, double spaced, 1-inch (2.5 cm) margin all around, and 8.5″ × 11” page setting.
  5. References may be single spaced.
  6. Number all the pages of the paper.
  7. The entire submission must be contained in ONE document created in Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx)
  8. Make sure to check that the file or document uploaded is virus-free prior to submitting.

To facilitate the blind review process, REMOVE ALL AUTHOR-IDENTIFYING INFORMATION, including acknowledgements, from the uploaded document as this is the document reviewers will be reading. DO NOT INCLUDE A TITLE PAGE!

You will still include ALL authors associated with your submission during the submission process, but not on your paper. The author information provided will appear in the printed and online MAM Program.

PLEASE NOTE: Authors submitting a proposal for consideration to the Midwest Academy of Management conference must understand that to attend the conference and present their work, all presenters must join the organization and pay the respective registration fees. Without exception, all authors who would be presenting must become members and pay the conference registration fees.

*Only those speakers that are personally invited by the Program Chair will receive complimentary guest registration for the conference.

If you know of a speaker or an organization that might be a potential speaker for a keynote session, or an organization that might be a sponsor, vendor or exhibitor, then please reach out to the Program Chair and or current President directly to discuss the opportunities.
